Robin Stone, a 17-year-old from Cambridge, Ohio, went missing on August 27, 1991. She was seven months pregnant at the time of her disappearance. On the day she vanished, Robin told her mother she was going out to help a friend with homework, but she never returned. Later that evening, Robin's car was found abandoned near a vacant house on Claysville Road. Her family immediately feared for her safety, especially given her pregnancy, and reported her missing.
Four months after her disappearance, on December 28, 1991, skeletal remains were found by hunters in a small wooded area near Luburgh Lake, about a mile from where her car had been discovered. These remains were identified as Robin's. The discovery brought heartbreak to her family, who had hoped to find her alive. The medical examiner determined that her death was a homicide, but an exact cause of death could not be established due to the condition of her remains. Investigators believed it was likely that she had been strangled.
Robin's case has remained unsolved for over two decades, but it received renewed attention in 2014 when the television show "Cold Justice" investigated her murder. The show revealed new information, including that Robin's boyfriend at the time, Lee Savage, was the father of her unborn child, something he had previously denied. Despite new leads, including Savage's history of violent behavior, no charges have been filed against anyone for Robin's death.
Robin's family has struggled to cope with the loss. They remember her as a bright, caring young woman who dreamed of becoming a veterinarian. The family continues to hold onto hope that justice will eventually be served.
