On June 3, 1980, eight-year-old Asenath Dukat was murdered while walking home from school in Upper Arlington, Ohio. Her body was found in a creek bed near the First Community Village. The case remained unsolved for over 40 years. In 2022, DNA evidence finally led investigators to identify Brent L. Strutner as her killer. Strutner was a resident of Upper Arlington at the time and took his own life in 1984.
Despite exhaustive efforts, no evidence was found linking anyone else to the crime, and the case has been closed.
