On July 6, 2019, in Cleveland, Ohio, 42-year-old Crystal Mahlar, a white female, was fatally shot alongside 41-year-old Joseph Watson Jr., a Black male. The incident occurred in the Old Brooklyn neighborhood, where both victims were discovered in a Dodge Durango. A third individual, Willie Brantley, sustained serious injuries but survived.
