Alonzo Johnson, 42, was killed on April 2, 2026, after violence erupted inside the lobby of a Kenwood apartment building on Chicago’s South Side. Johnson was a maintenance worker at the apartment complex in the 4500 block of South Drexel Boulevard, the same block where he lived, and the shooting unfolded around 5:30 p.m. after what authorities described as an argument with a resident of the building.
