Marcus Jerome Jones, 41, a male who was Black/African American, was found shot on the city’s southeast side of Grand Rapids in the early hours of September 2, 2025. Officers were called around 2:30 a.m. to the 400 block of Diamond Avenue SE, near Sigsbee Street, where they discovered the 41-year-old suffering from gunshot wounds; lifesaving efforts were unsuccessful and he died at the scene.
