Death by Force

Johnjose Connor Welsh, 20, male, Guatemalan-born, was shot in the early hours of August 2, 2025, outside the On The Rocks bar on East McNeese Street in Lake Charles. Police patrolling the area were dispersing a large crowd when gunfire broke out around 3 a.m. Officers found Welsh in the parking lot and began life-saving measures before he was taken to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries. Authorities publicly identified him on August 5 and noted he also went by Connor.
