On December 3, 2023, 33-year-old African American male Raymond Charles Lastrapes was fatally shot in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Officers from the Lake Charles Police Department responded to a shooting incident at approximately 12:34 p.m. in the 600 block of West McNeese Street. Upon arrival, they found Raymond Charles Lastrapes lying in the driveway area, suffering from a gunshot wound. Acadian Ambulance personnel pronounced him deceased at the scene.
