In the desolate expanse of the desert near Lake Mead Boulevard in Las Vegas, a grim discovery was made on February 18, 1987. Hikers traversing the remote area, approximately three-tenths of a mile south of the roadway, stumbled upon the nude body of a woman. She was later identified as Angelique Jeanette Hayes, a 36-year-old Caucasian female. Initially a "Jane Doe," authorities were able to uncover her identity through fingerprint comparison.
