Jonique Brown, 36, a Black woman from Baton Rouge, was killed just before dawn on August 24, 2025. Police were called at 3:56 a.m. to the 3400 block of Plank Road, where a large fight had erupted outside and several people began firing guns. Officers arrived to find Brown suffering from multiple gunshot wounds; emergency responders attempted lifesaving measures, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
