On the night of August 31, 2025, 18-year-old Fredrick Stevens Jr., a male from Eunice, Louisiana, was shot and killed near the 200 block of Fuselier Street. Police had just received reports around 10 p.m. of about six people in hoodies—some reportedly armed—moving along Perrotti Street toward Fuselier when a second call came in about gunfire.
