In the summer of 2025, a custody dispute in Florence, Kentucky, escalated to a fatal conclusion, claiming the life of 29-year-old John Lawyer. On July 25th, at the Normandy Green Apartments on Lloyd Avenue, what began as a verbal disagreement over custody matters turned violent. During the argument, Anastazia M. Calhoun, 28, is alleged to have produced a handgun and fired a single shot.
