Jerry Barnette, 56, a White male from South Bend, died on the night of May 21, 2025, after a confrontation that began outside the Logan Quick Mart at South Logan Street and Jefferson Boulevard and then moved inside the store. He was pronounced dead at the scene. An obituary confirmed his death in South Bend on that date and his age.
