On the evening of December 20, 2025, a violent incident occurred in South Bend, Indiana, claiming the life of a young man. Around 9:10 p.m., the South Bend Police Department received a ShotSpotter alert indicating gunfire in the 500 block of West Indiana Avenue. An officer who was already in the vicinity on an unrelated call responded rapidly to the area.
