Darius Floyd, 35, a male from Bloomington, was shot late on the night of July 17, 2025, on the city’s west side. Police were called just after 11:30 p.m. to the 1700 block of West Illinois Street, near the Sunnyside Housing Complex, for a report of a man shot in the head. He was taken to Carle BroMenn Medical Center in Normal and pronounced dead at 2:14 p.m. the next day. A preliminary autopsy found he died from a single gunshot wound to the head.
