Aveon Rocquez Rice, 17, a Black/African American male from Kokomo, Indiana, died on June 14, 2025, after being shot near Studebaker Park on a Saturday night that drew large crowds for an annual motorcycle event. Around 10:15–10:20 p.m., officers from Kokomo Police, Indiana State Police, and the Howard County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of an active shooting in the area of North Jay and East Madison streets.
