In the quiet neighborhood of Lexington's East End, the evening of Tuesday, September 30, 2025, was shattered by violence that claimed the life of 19-year-old Ja’Zarion Robinson. A Black/African American male, Robinson was found inside a residence in the 500 block of East Seventh Street with a gunshot wound. Lexington Police officers responded to a report of a shooting at approximately 8:15 p.m. and discovered the teenager, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
His death marked the city's 17th homicide of the year and the first in nearly two months.
The news of Robinson's death sent ripples of grief and concern through the community. He was remembered by some as a respectful and funny young man who loved music and was working to overcome personal challenges with the support of his family.
