Jashyra Blackhawk, a 22-year-old Black/African American woman, was shot and killed in the early hours of August 10, 2025 during a large street party in Chicago’s Austin neighborhood. Police said the gunfire erupted around 2:48 a.m. near West End and La Crosse avenues, where officers found six people struck; Blackhawk was hit in the back and pronounced dead soon after.
