David Carmona, 20, male, left his home in Chicago's Back of the Yards neighborhood on a quiet Sunday morning and walked toward a nearby store along South Damen Avenue. Around 6:35 a.m. on August 10, 2025, a verbal altercation unfolded near the 4700 block. As Carmona turned to walk away, someone shot him from behind, and he collapsed on the street before first responders rushed him to Stroger Hospital in critical condition.
