Rodney Dushaun Hampton, a 39-year-old African American male, was tragically found dead on July 12, 2020, in the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago, IL. The Cook County medical examiner's office initially misidentified him as John Hammock, but later confirmed his identity as Rodney Dushaun Hampton.

incident also involved three other individuals who were injured in the same shooting. Two men, aged 27 and 33, and a 20-year-old woman, all sustained gunshot wounds to their legs and were treated at St. Bernard Hospital. Fortunately, they were reported to be in good condition. Witnesses at the scene were uncooperative with investigators, which has complicated the investigation. Area One detectives are actively investigating the case, but no arrests have been made, and no suspects have been publicly identified.
