In the early morning hours of August 4, 2017, a tense and ultimately fatal encounter unfolded inside a Marietta, Georgia, home. The incident resulted in the death of 27-year-old Kandre Funches. According to reports, a woman named Shaquita Green shot Funches, claiming she did so in self-defense as he was threatening her and her three young children with a handgun.
The events leading up to the shooting began when Green allowed a man named Javarrian Mitchell into her home on Griggs Street.
Mitchell then reportedly granted access to Funches. The two men were looking for another individual who was not present at the residence at the time.
