In the late afternoon of a summer day in Owen County, Indiana, a grim discovery was made at a residence north of Spencer. On August 9, 2025, deputies were dispatched to a home around 3:42 p.m. following a report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they found two men, 41-year-old Grantham Adam Chandler and 61-year-old Jeffrey David Fauber, lying deceased in the driveway from apparent gunshot wounds.

A juvenile male walked into the Morgan County Sheriff's Office in Martinsville and informed the authorities of a 'criminal incident' that had taken place in Owen County.
