A road rage incident turns deadly
In the early morning hours of July 17, 1996, a simmering roadway dispute on a darkened stretch of U.S. 231 in Spencer, Indiana, ended in the tragic death of 19-year-old Bryan E. Haltom, a Caucasian male. Haltom and his friend, Trevor Powell, were heading northbound in Haltom's Pontiac Trans Am when they became engaged in a 'rolling, verbal altercation' with an unidentified driver in another vehicle.
