Barine Saro John, a 26-year-old African American man, was shot to death on September 7, 2025, in Chicago's McKinley Park neighborhood. Chicago police said the 26-year-old was found around 5:30 a.m. with a gunshot wound to the upper body on the sidewalk in the 3500 block of South Leavitt Street, just outside the CTA Orange Line's 35th/Archer station; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
