Marshall Gingerella, an 80-year-old male from Rancho Cucamonga, was reported missing by loved ones on July 17, 2025. Two days later, late on the morning of July 19, a landscaper working along the equestrian trail near Wilson Avenue and Malachite Avenue noticed a man facedown behind a line of homes and called authorities. Deputies from the Rancho Cucamonga Sheriff’s Station arrived and identified the victim as Gingerella; based on their initial assessment, he had likely been at the location
for some time before being found.
Investigators opened a death investigation and publicly stated there were no signs of foul play tied to what happened on that trail. In their advisory to the community, they emphasized that detectives had not developed any suspects and that there was no known threat to the broader public. They asked anyone with information to contact the station or We-Tip, noting the case number and the timeline from the missing-person report to the discovery on July 19.
