On the morning of September 12, 2025, Jeremiah Dawson, 23, a Black male, was walking along the sidewalk in Chicago's Chatham neighborhood when a car pulled up in the 800 block of East 91st Street and someone inside opened fire. He suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was rushed to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
