Death by Force

Black/African American male David Rose, 33, was killed on August 8, 2025, while responding to reports of an active shooter near the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta. The DeKalb County police officer arrived as gunfire shattered windows on multiple CDC buildings and nearby storefronts, drawing lockdowns across Emory University and the surrounding Emory Point complex. He was mortally wounded during the response and died that afternoon.
