Death by Force

Deshawn Casey, 34, a Black male, was shot inside an apartment at the Cortland at Buckhead Village complex near the 3000 block of Peachtree Road NE in the early hours of August 7, 2025, after an argument with his cousin who was visiting from Florida. Officers arrived around 2:30 a.m., found him wounded, and he was taken by Grady EMS to the hospital where he was pronounced dead later that morning. His identity was released by the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office.
