Princeton C. Miller, a 38-year-old Black male, was shot during an argument and died in Chicago before dawn on September 21, 2025. Just before 3 a.m., he was outside in the 200 block of North Halsted Street near Lake when a dispute with two men inside a gray sedan spiraled into gunfire; witnesses described the confrontation unfolding on the sidewalk in the West Loop/West Town area as the car’s occupants opened fire and sped off.
Hit in the chest, Miller was rushed to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 3:14 a.m., according to police and the Cook County medical examiner. Records list him as living on South 61st Avenue in Cicero, and an obituary later confirmed his name, age, and date of death.
Within hours, the investigation produced a crucial break. A 28-year-old man—believed to have been inside the gray sedan and grazed by a bullet—drove himself to the University of Illinois Chicago Medical Center, where police took him into custody. Reporters noted that detectives were questioning two people, and officers recovered multiple firearms, including three guns found in a gray Kia linked to the encounter.
