On August 11, 2003, the body of Victoria Camara was discovered in a remote desert area near U.S. Highway 95, south of a gravel haul road in the Las Vegas area. A gravel truck driver found the remains of the young woman, leading to an immediate homicide investigation. Camara had suffered a violent death, though specific details regarding the cause of death were not publicly disclosed at the time.
