Stephan R. Hammond, 18, a male Black/African American from Chicago, died on September 26, 2025, after being shot on the city's North Side in the Sheridan Park section of Uptown. Officers responded to reports of gunfire around 11:49–11:50 p.m. in the 1200 block of West Sunnyside Avenue and found Stephan R. Hammond unresponsive in the street with a gunshot wound to the head; he was taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
