Devonte Gipson, 33, male, was fatally shot on the afternoon of June 27, 2025, in Chicago's Washington Heights neighborhood. Police said he was in an alley in the 1400 block of West 94th Street around 3:10 p.m. when someone approached and opened fire, striking him in the groin. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead, according to the Cook County medical examiner and Chicago police.
