On October 18, 1975, in Sutherland, Nebraska, six members of the Kellie family were tragically murdered in their home. Among the victims was 7-year-old Deanna Lynn Kellie, who, along with her family, was killed by Erwin Charles Simants. Simants, a 29-year-old neighbor and acquaintance of the Kellie family, had previously done work for them and was paying off a debt to Henry Kellie for bail money.
