On September 21, 2024, a tragic incident occurred in the Little Village neighborhood on Chicago's Southwest Side. A mass shooting took place during a prayer vigil held in the front yard of a residence in the 2500 block of South Spaulding Avenue. The vigil was being held to honor a man who had recently passed away.
