In the late summer of 2025, the life of 24-year-old Rasheed Moore was cut short by gunfire in Albany, Georgia. On the night of August 16th, Moore was in the parking lot located at 107 N. Mock Road when the fatal shooting occurred. Born on August 2, 2001, his death just two weeks after his birthday sent ripples of grief through his community.
The Albany Police Department launched an extensive investigation into the homicide. Their efforts led to the identification of a primary suspect and, on September 2, 2025, a significant breakthrough in the case. Three men were taken into custody in connection with Moore's murder.
Among the arrested was 26-year-old Charles Anthony Porter, who faced the most severe charges of Murder and Possession of a Dangerous Weapon. The other two men, Anthony Hawkins and Shannon Mclloyd Jr., were both charged with Possession of a Dangerous Weapon. Authorities indicated at the time of the arrests that the investigation was not over, with the possibility of further charges and additional individuals being looked into.
