In the predawn hours of September 3, 2025, 54-year-old male Lawrence Mitchell Perry was shot during a dispute outside the Aludyne plant along Northside Industrial Boulevard in north Columbus. Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan later identified Lawrence Mitchell Perry and noted that the call from the hospital came at 7:37 a.m., after he had been taken by private vehicle to St. Francis–Emory Healthcare, where he was pronounced dead.
