In the summer of 2018, a burst of gunfire shattered the peace of a Columbus, Georgia neighborhood, leaving a family devastated and a community in search of answers. On July 30th of that year, 36-year-old James D. 'JJ' Richardson Jr., a Black male, was fatally shot at the Bull Creek Apartments. The incident marked a tragic end to a life and the beginning of a prolonged legal process to bring his killer to justice.
