In the late hours of August 10, 2022, 18-year-old Caleb Boling, a white male from Smiths Station, Alabama, was fatally shot in Columbus, Georgia. The incident occurred at approximately 10:37 p.m. in the parking lot of the Walmart on Victory Drive where Boling was an employee. He was discovered inside his vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation swiftly led to the identification of a suspect, 18-year-old Dorian Reviere.
Reviere was apprehended the following day in Phenix City, Alabama, and was subsequently extradited to Georgia. He was charged with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. Authorities revealed that Boling and Reviere had a history, having attended high school together. The situation was further complicated by the fact that Boling was out on bond for a robbery case in which Reviere was the alleged victim.
During Reviere's preliminary hearing on August 15, 2022, he pleaded not guilty. Investigators presented evidence that included witness statements and video footage that placed Reviere's vehicle at the scene of the shooting. A firearm was also recovered from his apartment. Despite a motion from his defense to dismiss the firearm charge, the judge denied it. Reviere was subsequently denied bond. Later, a grand jury indicted him for felony murder and aggravated assault. On September 15, 2025, Dorian Reviere was located and arrested by the Muscogee County Sheriff's Office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's West Georgia Gang Task Force.
