In the quiet of a Roswell apartment complex, a heated argument between a father and son escalated into a fatal encounter, leaving one man dead and the other facing a murder charge. On the morning of Thursday, September 25, 2025, police were called to the Rosemont Apartment Homes on Rosemont Parkway. Inside one of the units, they discovered 56-year-old Gary Clark, a male who had been shot to death.
The investigation into Clark's death quickly focused on his 29-year-old son, Tristan Dinnall. According to police, the two men had been arguing prior to the shooting. At some point during the dispute, Dinnall is alleged to have retrieved a handgun and fired at his father before fleeing the scene. The tragic events were witnessed by another family member who was able to provide officers with a description of Dinnall and the vehicle he was driving.
A responding officer spotted Dinnall's car within minutes of the initial 911 call and conducted a traffic stop. Dinnall was taken into custody without incident. He was subsequently arrested and charged with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. Authorities have described the shooting as an isolated domestic-related act of violence and are not seeking any other suspects in connection with Gary Clark's death. Dinnall was booked into the Fulton County Jail, where he was being held without bond.
