Leon Donell Tolbert Jr., 30, male, Black, was found in the predawn hours of September 27, 2025, along Highway 301 South just outside Sylvania, Georgia. Deputies and troopers were dispatched around 3:15 a.m. for what first sounded like a car crash; inside the vehicle, responders discovered Leon Donell Tolbert Jr., 30, and another Sylvania man, Brandon Counts, 30, each suffering from a single gunshot wound.
