Brandon Counts, a 30-year-old White male from Sylvania, Georgia, died on September 27, 2025. Around 3:15 a.m. that Saturday, deputies and troopers were dispatched to Highway 301 South just outside the Sylvania city limits after a call initially described a car crash. Inside a vehicle that had left the roadway—but had not actually crashed—officers found Counts and 30-year-old Leon Tolbert Jr., each with a single gunshot wound.
