Julian Edward Roosevelt Lewis, a 60-year-old Black man from Sylvania, Georgia, was fatally shot on August 7, 2020, by Georgia State Patrol officer Jacob Gordon Thompson. The incident occurred during a traffic stop initiated by Thompson due to a broken taillight on Lewis's vehicle.
