In the small town of Sylvania, Georgia, a domestic disturbance escalated into a tragedy on Saturday, May 11, 2024, ending the life of 32-year-old Alan Brandan Lane. A native of Screven County, he was a man known for his mechanical intuition and as a loving father to his two children. He had built a life for himself as the owner of Superior Roofing Company after training as a welder and working as a union ironworker.
On that Saturday afternoon, Screven County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to a residence on South Fork Road around 12:55 p.m. following a report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered Lane with gunshot wounds. He was transported to Optim Medical Center, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
