On January 4, 2007, 27-year-old Elham Afshare was tragically killed in Las Vegas, Nevada. Afshare was the unintended victim of a bombing that occurred in the Luxor Hotel parking garage, a crime rooted in jealousy. The attack was meant to target her new boyfriend, orchestrated by her ex-boyfriend, who sought revenge. The explosion, which initially raised fears of a larger terror incident, resulted in the death of Afshare's partner, while she herself survived the initial attack but succumbed to the trauma. The perpetrator was later convicted.
