In the early hours of Sunday, June 15, 2025, the life of 18-year-old Jhavare Smith of Stratford, a Black / African American male, was tragically cut short in New Haven, Connecticut. The fatal incident unfolded around 2:47 a.m. in the city's Dixwell neighborhood, where Smith was found lying on the sidewalk of Tilton Street with a gunshot wound. He was swiftly transported to Yale New Haven Hospital, but tragically succumbed to his injuries.
