On June 7, 2004, 22-year-old Jason Dwayne Craggett was fatally shot at his grandmother's residence on Vernon Street in New Haven, Connecticut. The incident occurred when a gunman approached Craggett as he sat on the porch; Craggett attempted to flee into the house but was pursued and shot by the assailant.
