Neighbors on the quiet block of Tulane Park Place in southwest Bakersfield called for help just before 10 a.m. on September 11, 2025, reporting a domestic peace disturbance. When officers arrived, they found Emma Yoconda Wildrick, 85, a woman, down in front of a residence with gunshot wounds. Emma Yoconda Wildrick, 85, was pronounced dead at the scene, and investigators marked the stretch near Stockdale Highway and Buena Vista Road as they began piecing together what unfolded that morning.
