Jason Griffin, a 17-year-old African American male, was tragically shot and killed on July 23, 2016, in Calumet City, Illinois. The incident occurred in the 600 block of Hirsch Avenue, where Jason was shot multiple times and died at the scene around 3:45 p.m. According to his mother, Lakeia Griffin, Jason was enjoying a playful backyard water fight with family and friends before stepping out to smoke a cigarette.
