In the early hours of a Wednesday morning, on July 23, 2025, the life of 36-year-old Jose Pablo Camacho was tragically cut short in a burst of gunfire. The fatal encounter unfolded in the parking lot of the Windrift Apartments on South Reed Street in Lakewood, Colorado. Earlier that night, police had been called to the same apartment complex for a disturbance, but the individuals involved had departed before their arrival.

Later, at approximately 1:20 a.m., the sound of gunshots echoed through the complex, drawing police back to the scene. There they discovered a chaotic and violent aftermath. Jose Pablo Camacho, a male, was found deceased in the parking lot. Two other individuals, a man and a woman, had also sustained gunshot wounds but were expected to survive their injuries. Witnesses reported that a party involving family members had been taking place, and it appeared multiple shooters were involved in the incident, with evidence of gunfire found both inside and outside an apartment.

In the days that followed, the Lakewood Police Department made two arrests in connection with the deadly shooting. Xavier Gabriel Brionez, 21, and Moises Elauterio Garcia, 43, were taken into custody. Both men face suspicion of first-degree murder in the death of Jose Camacho.

Jose, born on May 4, 1989, in Denver, Colorado, was remembered as a beloved husband, father, son, and brother. He was a dedicated family man to his wife and their children, cherishing time spent together on activities like camping. Described as having a vibrant personality, a great sense of humor, and an inspiring resilience, his loss has left a profound void in the lives of his loved ones.
