On August 18, 2025, at approximately 11:45 p.m., police responded to reports of shots fired at a residence located at 1212 North Gray Street. Upon their arrival, officers discovered Marbray in the yard, suffering from a gunshot wound.
Emergency medical personnel were unable to save him and pronounced him dead at the scene.

Known affectionately as 'Tre,' Devontre Montrez Marbray was born in El Dorado on May 4, 2000. A 2019 graduate of El Dorado High School, he was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church. He worked as a warehouse associate and material handler and also had a passion for breeding Pitbulls through his UGH Kennel. He was a father to five children. As of the latest available reports, no arrests have been made in connection with his murder, and police have not publicly identified any suspects. The investigation into his death remains ongoing, leaving a community to mourn and await answers.
