Xavier Thrower, a 26-year-old male, passed away on June 14, 2020, in his hometown of El-dorado, AR. His life was cut short, leaving a void in the lives of his family and friends who affectionately knew him as 'Poohman.' He was a person who embraced life with enthusiasm, known for his entrepreneurial spirit and his passion for cooking, often sharing his culinary creations with loved ones.
His interests also extended to basketball and football, and he expressed his creativity through rapping.
Born on February 1, 1994, Xavier was a graduate of Parkers Chapel High School's class of 2012. He had a strong connection with his faith from an early age, having joined the Beulah Grove Baptist Church in El Dorado. Described as having a caring heart, he was never shy about expressing his true feelings and cherished the time he spent with his family and close friends. His untimely death at the Medical Center of South Arkansas left his community in mourning.
In the wake of his passing, the El Dorado Police Department launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death. This led to the arrest of three individuals in connection with the case. Keyon Mumin, D'Andre Mumin, and Chastity Mumin were taken into custody and faced charges related to the incident that ended Xavier's life. The charges brought against them included first-degree murder and engaging in a terroristic act, suggesting a violent end to a young life.
The legal process unfolded, and on August 19, 2021, a jury found Keyon Mumin and D'Andre Mumin guilty of the lesser charge of manslaughter, as well as being accomplices to a terroristic act. The jury recommended a sentence of 10 years in the Arkansas Department of Correction for the manslaughter conviction and 6 years for the terroristic act, with the sentences to be served consecutively. Chastity Mumin, the third individual charged, had her case adjudicated separately. She pleaded guilty to a felony charge of hindering apprehension and was sentenced to three years of supervised probation, with a portion of that time to be served in the Union County jail.
